The problem may not be your phone at all. Maybe my story will give you an
avenue of investigation.

About 4 years ago I was using AT&T. There was a small AT&T store less than a
mile from my house. I always had 5 bars (maximum) signal strength.

All of a sudden, I started experiencing dropped calls and text messages not
delivered for at least 45 minutes.

I called a local AT&T store and asked if AT&T had closed the store near me.
They said, "Yes."

Apparently, AT&T had a cell phone tower or signal booster near the store so
that customers would have good service while shopping in the store. When they
closed the store, they removed the signal booster or cell phone tower. And my
service degraded significantly.

I told the guy at the AT&T store that I would drop AT&T and choose a different
carrier as soon as my contract ended in a couple of months.

I don't know if this is your problem, but it is something worth checking out.

Subject: Poor reception and dropped calls

Lately, we have been dealing with a lot of dropped phone calls. I’m wondering
how often is this a problem with the specific iPhone, or problem with the
carrier? I’ve been tempted to switch companies for a while now, but maybe
before we jump ship, I should bring the iPhone in and have it looked at.

What are your thoughts?

Thank you,
Traci
