All I can say is what I said for the last few years, don’t upgrade tomorrow or
Wednesday. Wait a couple of days and check Applevis as well as what people here
(those who inevitably will upgrade) have to say other than of course to ask how
they can go back to iOS 10. It is my understanding that there are some
significant issues in iOS 11, maybe they have mostly been ironed out in the GM,
but I wouldn’t count onit. I am usually somebody who likes to live a bit on the
risky side and I have had beta versions of iOS on my phone for years usually
starting around late June or early July, but this year even I took a pass whenI
heard on the beta list that I am on what some of the issues were.

Regards,
Sieghard

I was under that impression for iOS 11, but hadn't heard anything about tvOS
for, although I assumed it probably would. How well does it work? I guess
people will find out tomorrow.

Thanks, Mary. I’m hoping to get access to the usual AD, but I can glean most of
the info in the film from the narration, except for the interviews in
Vietnamese. The AD would be nice for other things, too, such as naming who is
talking, etc. Keith

I have never used the Apple TV app for PBS. But on the regular PBS, I have also
never heard audio description when there was simply something that was caption
because it was in a foreign language. I know PBS has some programs with audio
description, but have never seen it on foreign language interviews etc. I think
you would want to turn on captioning for that, that is regular close
captioning. So if VoiceOver becomes able to read subtitles or close captions
for the deaf, then the thing you want might become available.

Hi,

I’m starting to watch the new Ken Burns series on Vietnam. There are a number
of interviews with Vietnamese which I’m sure are captioned. Wondering if these
may be available via Audio Description. I don’t hear any AD, but thought I’d
check here to see if perhaps I’m missing it, although I’m pretty sure I have my
AppleTV set up correctly to play AD if available.

Can someone please confirm the presence or absence of AD on PBS shows, either
on the AppleTV 4 app or via PBS.org<http://PBS.org>. I’ve tired that latter,
too, but without any luck finding AD.

Thanks in advance. Keith
