Perfect response, Robin, you said exactly what I was going to say. As for
Kelby, have you done any preparations before the update?
I know some people scoff at the suggestion to make sure all your apps are
updated, then that you close all apps and as a minimum power-cycle your phone,
better is to do a reset network settings.
At this point I would highly recommend that first of all you do check your
settings in particular Privacy > Location services and don't forget to check
system services at the bottom and turn off things like cell network search,
that favourite location thing or whatever it's called where your phone
remembers places you go to etc.
Then close all apps in the app switcher and now go to Settings > General >
Reset and tap Reset Network Settings.
After the phone reboots go to Settings > General > About and name the iPhone to
what you want it to be or what it was before as resetting network settings
changes the name to "iPhone". Second thing you need to do is to reconnect to
your WiFi, after that you are all set.
Now try and see what happens. I actually found that especially if my phone is
locked and I don't use it much (otherwise when it's in standby) it uses less
battery.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: Re: Battery Life in iOS 11

Hi,
This seems to come up every iOS update cycle. sometimes it's software based
and is righted in due course. Other times it's that sometimes these updates
inadvertently change some settings from how they'd been before. for instance
changing brightness or turning Bluetooth on when it had been off. I haven't a
clue if any of these are in play here but just thought I'd mention them just in
case as earlier in my iDevice using life they could have taken me by surprise.
Now however I know to check just in case anything had changed from my personal
preferences.
Good luck.
Robin

Is anyone else having a problem with battery life after updating? My iPhone now
loses battery extremely quickly, even when screen brightness is at 0.
