I can’t answer the second part of your question, but, if you install the Bose app it will give you some options. For instance, you can set a timer for how long you want the headphones to stay on while not in use. The app is really not that important, and not too accessible. My sighted husband helped me with it. I can’t answer any questions about the wire. I probably don’t have the same ones. I have the bluetooth sound sport and an older set of bluetooth headphones. Sorry I can’t be of my more help.
