Richard pretty much dissected the difference between the two. Bards very easy
to use. I myself use both. I actually prefer the neutral readers, the
volunteer readers from Learning Ally. I often look up my favorite authors on
Bart and download the books and then can barely get through The first pages of
most of them because of their overly dramatic rendering which to me is generic
and it's own way. I prefer a neutral read much like what it's like when a
friend sits down and read to me. The commercial audio that Richard mentioned
often are the best recordings. Often there very long box and series books like
the girl with the Dragon tattoo or I Q 94 or of the goldfinch and some of those
are extraordinary readings. So it's a mix. maybe you should call learning Ally
and asked them if there are discounts and also ask them for a sample of some
books that you're interested in so that you can judge for yourself what you
would find most useful tolerable or pleasurable. They might be able to
accommodate you.
