Hi Fanus, 
The Chromecast audio does require AC power connection. You configure it in the 
google Home app. You can have a configuration for each Chromecast- connected 
device, such as two stereos. So you can send your audio to one, the other one, 
or both, by setting up a  home group. Configuring is totally accessible.
