Hi Denise, First, you will need the JBL Connect app to rename your speakers and to update the firmware.
Next, here are the buttons from left to right: Bluetooth Volume down Volume up Power Shuffle Play/pause On the power button, there is a small button on the right side of the power button. Press that button on each speaker to have the audio simultaneously play all three speakers. As for your question about using the speaker to answer calls, you press the play/pause button to answer.
