Hi, I’d heard nothing about this app until I saw this thread, so naturally I had to download it and take it for a spin. When I installed it, in-app purchases were mentioned but I didn’t see anything specific about what they might be, nor did the app store mention what in-app purchases were available. I then sorted through several unopened envelopes that I’d received in the mail over the last couple of days. Scan results were very quick and quite accurate. I then ran into the in-app purchases. To continue using the app you have to purchase bundles of credits. For 99 cents you get 100 credits, giving you 100 scans. A $3 credit bundle gives you 600 scans, and a $7 bundle gives you 1,000 scans. The app also offers translation services, which, if I understand correctly, are done at the rate of 1 cent per every 400 characters that are read and translated.
