This is the response I’ve received after leaving a one star rating on their
last two iOS UPDATES.

Skype for iPhone

Skype Communications S.a.r.l

"Hello and thank you for your review. We are extremely sorry for the
performance issues. It was truly not our intention to make things feel more
difficult for our users, and hope you can give us a chance to work on these
issues and recommendations. We will be happy to see any suggestions coming
directly from our users so our developers can have them in mind while updating
the newest version of Skype. See the latest changes in the release notes:
<https://aka.ms/mreleasenotes> https://aka.ms/mreleasenotes. If you're
encountering any technical issues, feel free to talk to one of our Skype
Agents: <https://aka.ms/SkypeGetHelp> https://aka.ms/SkypeGetHelp. Have a
great day. Best regards, Anna P"

MSAccessibility has also made it known via Twitter that they’re aware of the
recent accessibility issues with Skype on IoS and Windows and that they’re
“working hard” to get updates out to address them.

This is fine and dandy, but how’d they let such updates out into the wild per
say that broke so much for so many users. Not to mention the prolonged time
it’s taking to address and hopefully fix them?

I guess it’s a wait and see till the next app updates come out to see if
there’s been any progress.

I have an Officed 365 subscription which means I get 60 minutes of Skype
calling each month with my plan and I also still have a Germany subscription
which was paid for the entire year. I don’t think Microsoft should mess things
up to the point where the product is almost unuseable.

Anyhow, Ben, I have a 6S Plus. I’ll see, hopefully an update comes soon maybe
it works again then.

Hi Sieghard, I personally don’t use skype any more, since they started messing
it up.

Have you taken a look at viber?

not sure about the price of their plans, but it might be worth checking it out.

Subject: Skype

Hi,

Anyone who uses Skype? I don’t use it often, but today when I wanted to use it
the app opened. Then it crashed and I was able to open it once afterwards, now
it crashes each time I try to open it back to the home screen.

I unloaded all apps, I rebooted the phone and I even deleted the app and
redownloaded it, it still crashes.

I must say this thing annoys me no end lately. I mostly use it for calls to
landlines and cell phones in Germany, their subscription which I think gives me
400 minutes a month (way more than I need) is really quite cheap..

Regards,

Sieghard
