Not much to it, if you have the SIM removal tool (a little wire gadget) use it 
otherwise bend open a paperclip.
Slide it along the edge until you find the hole, stick it in and push down (it 
does take some force), the tray pops out just a bit, pull it out all the way, 
put the SIM somewhere safe (it’s tiny) and put the SIM tray back in.

I am sending in my iPhone 6 for battery replacement. One instruction was to 
remove the sim.

I know the sim tray is on the right side of the phone.  Beyond that, I need 
step by step instructions to proceed with the sim removal.
