The samples of unfiltered recordings from the iPhone compared to the recordings made with a second-gen Stream completely blow the Stream out of the water. Even if HumanWare has managed to fix that persistant background hiss on the second-gen Stream, the recordings produced by an unfiltered iPhone's mic still beats the stream's mic capabilities. I can't remember which apps bypass Apple's automatic filtering of the mic, but they're definitely out there.
