Hello, No not almost everyone had units with issues. There was actually only a few of us that had issues. Most did not. There are units that are over a year old running fine. I was one who had a defective unit and I have already received my replacement unit and it is working fine. As for displays with speech, the only ones I know of are ones like the polaris or b2g units. These range from close to $3000 to $6000 . > On Mar 16, 2018, at 9:55 AM, <mi...@eastlink.ca> <mi...@eastlink.ca> wrote: > > hi all jumping in on this topic. i am wondering for those of us who use jaws > and so are used to useing speech and not braille are there any options left > for those who want to use a braille display with speech output? years and > years ago i had a braille and speek that i was told at the time that i had to > use in school when i was going tos chool at the wrms school for the blind in > ontario. in all of my years there i never saw one studint useing this. i can > remember not doing that well with this since i just wasn’t getting the cord > consept and keystrokes etc. so i was wondering if there were any options for > those of us who would like to use braille but who also want to have something > with speech output as well. i also like the idea that the braille me has 6 > dot braille since i am not used to ate dot braille. from Mich. > > From: alia robinson <> > Sent: Friday, March 16, 2018 3:16 AM > To: <>viphone@googlegroups.com <mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com> > Subject: Re: Braille displays: braille me or orbit braille reader? > > I had an orbit for a bit, not impressed. almost everyone who got one in this > early run had dots that wouldn’t come up.
