Does the app tell you the various channels either in the listings for the
channels or when you pick one?

I have the DirecTVNOW app on my iPhone 7-plus, and it does work fine. When
you first install the app and log in, it is a pain to get it to play. Go in
to the app settings, make sure that play automatically when launched is
turned on, and make sure that the app is unmuted. Close the app in the app
switcher and then reopen it. Once you get it playing it should work for you.
