I am sure Amazon would love to sell Kindle books through the Kindle and Amazon apps, but they aren't willing to pay Apple I think it is about 30 percent. After all, Apple wants you to buy and read that book through IBooks.

The issue is that if an app sells something, then Apple gets a portion, and so Amazon directs you to its website.
