True enough, but there are other distinctions. Talkback relies even today on angle jesters which are very hard for a lot of blind people. Voiceover makes use of two and three finger gestures. Talk back does not have any three finger gestures ever. So there are still differences. And Apple has implemented jesters on the iPhone X to make up for the lack of a home button. And plenty of blind people are using them successfully.
