Hi Richard, You would think this can be turned off or on in Settings, but I also can’t find it. However, if you start playing a Podcast and tap on the “Effects” button you can see if it is turned on there and you can turn it off if it is on or on if it is off. Also, if you go to Settings and look for “SIRI Shortcuts” under the Advanced heading you can set up a SIRI shortcut to turn on and off Smart Speed. There are also many other options for setting up shortcuts, you can set up one for example for playing, pausing, skipping and rewinding etc. I just set one up for playing and called it “Play Overcast”. There are also SIRI Shortcuts you can set up for each of your Podcasts, e.g. if you have subscribed to Applevis you can tap on it and record a phrase like “Play Applevis on Overcast”. The one reason why at one point I really tried to use the Apple Podcast app was because it works with SIRI, now with SIRI Shortcuts and Overcast already having implemented this feature there is even less reason. Now I just wish Audible would allow users to set up SIRI Shortcuts so I could say “Play Audible”.
