Hi Mary,

Just reading about things always brings with it the danger that you may happen 
to read something written by somebody who doesn't know what they are talking 
about.
The old app a worse rating than the new one if you compare 1.6 to 2.1 Stars.
Anyhow, I don't yet have the new Instant Pot WiFi, but I was curious so I 
downloaded the new app and the setup as far as I was able to go which included 
creating an account, naming non-existent Instant Pot, setting a WiFi key for it 
and all that was perfectly accessible.
The last screen I was able to access after doing all this gave me a list of 
Instant Pots which I assume are compatible with the app. The new Instant Pot 
WiFi was at the top of that list, but it also listed other models which don't 
have any smart connectivity and the Instant Pot Smart Bluetooth was also listed.
I tapped on the new Wi-Fi model and after that I was supposed to push the Wi-Fi 
button on the Instant Pot for 3 seconds and press continue. I tapped continue 
anyways and I was then instructed to go to my Wi-Fi settings and connect to the 
Instant Pot network which now should be showing up there, then return to the 
app and finish the set up. This is very standard for many Wi-Fi connected 
devices such as thermostats, light switches etc. , but of course I don't have 
the Instant Pot yet so I closed the app at this point. Once I have the Instant 
Pot I guess I'll see where it starts up when I re-open the app.
Instant Pot support told me almost a year ago that when the new Wi-Fi model 
comes out accessibility would not be forgotten and in any case, I wonder how 
all these people can rate the app and Instant Pot Wi-Fi experience when it just 
started shipping, I think on Amazon Canada it said something about November 8 
which was just last Thursday so even people who placed their order then and got 
it the next day would have only just received it.
I for one will simply wait until either I can test it myself or others who 
order the new Wi-Fi connected Instant Pot and receive it report on how well or 
not well it works, to repeat things I read  or assumed doesn't make much sense 
to me, you can find bad reviews for even really good products. If we weren't 10 
days away from Black Friday I would have already ordered it, but if I end up 
being able to pick it up for $50 less than why not, it's not like I will starve 
and I have waited almost a year for it to come out so another 10 days won't 
hurt.

For this new part, they have a new app. I also have a smart cooker app, and as 
you noted, it’s quite accessible. I never fooled with the programmed in 
recipes. But this new one is supposed to have 750 recipes programmed in already 
to the app. So that could be kind of a big deal, and it is not the same app, 
and it does not have retro connectivity. At least according to what I read in 
the app reviews. So you can’t get a new app and get access to all those recipes 
for your Bluetooth model.
