I am surprised at your statement of better sound since almost all reviews I read praise how good they sound and having briefly tried them at an Apple Store I tend to agree that for how tiny they are they do sound very good to me. I also have no issues with the Earpods which are essentially the same size and shape as the Airpods, falling out, but of course everybody's ears are different. I whole-heartedly agree about the lack of volume control, for a Bluetooth headset of such high price not to offer independent volume controls is laughable and it alone is primarily the reason why I have not yet bought a pair.
