I tried lyft once but quit after they lied about a discount. I was suppose to get a discount but never saw it activated. I was charged almost $8 for a ride less than 2 miles.

The one thing I'll say which has not been mentioned yet is it seems that in Austin, Texas, where we have both, Uber Pool used to be a set price no matter the distance. However, I have found that Uber Pool, their carpool service, has been on a sliding scale, sometimes differing in price from when I book a trip. Lyft, on the other hand, their Share service, the price I see is the price I pay. A long time ago, Uber Pool was like that but for whatever reason, things have changed in that regard. Delivery fees for Uber Eats in my area have also gotten to be set amounts which can range from $2.49 to $6.99, depending on distance and wait time. So it seems that Uber is more expensive for me and Lyft is winning out more often than not. I have both on my phone but tend to use Lyft.
