While your method works great if you want to completely clear Recent Calls, there are many times when somebody may want to keep certain numbers in there and only delete selected calls. If it is an IPhone and you want to clear your call log, open phone, select recents, then the edit button near top of call log, swipe up to the clear button, double-tap it then double-tap the delete all calls button.
