I can almost guaranty that the there is something going on either with the connection to the hearing aids or with volume. When you don't get volume, do you wear your hearing aids at that time? The other day I got all frustrated because suddenly my phone was silent, then I remembered that my Bluetooth earpiece had run out of battery and I plugged it in to charge without having first turned it off. Once it had some charge it turned on and the phone connected to it. It was 20 feet away in the kitchen so of course I could not hear Voiceover which was happily speaking through the earpiece.
