I would not just go up to a 7, doubt if to an 8. The XR is considerably larger than the 6, but even though my hands are not huge, I find it comfortable to use. It is considerably faster -- you will notice the difference right away! And, it is considerably louder -- and that's one of the best things. I have continued to hang onto our landline, principly because I felt like I could always hear better on the landline phone than I cound using the IPhone, but since I've had the XR, I've found myself calling people on my IPhone whenever the phone was in my hand already and I needed to reach someone by phone. The XR is lots more comfortable to hear!
