Did you try a three finger swipe up to scroll the screen? I haven’t had a voice mail in a while,but I also did something that got rid of the stupid transcript. Someone posted instructions about changing Siri’s voice to Australian or something like that, and since I can’t remember the details, I cannot repost the steps exactly. But this transcript stuff is one of the worst creations since it is not just a toggle.
I’ve told that to Apple, and perhaps if everyone did, we could get a choice to not have it? I simply right-flick past the transcription of the message and press the “Play voice mail” button, but nothing plays. It occurred to me that perhaps I was not activating the “play” button even though VO led me to beliefe I was doing so. My sighted wife confirmed this when she told me she could not see the button without scrolling the screen. When she did so, VO consistently played the message, but I am unable to replicate the gesture she performs to make this happen on my own. I think the problem may have something to do with the amount of space the transcription occupies on the small screen of the iPhone 5. Could this transcription somehow be hiding the “Play” button?
