First thing I would do is make sure raise to wake is turned off. If you are using VoiceOver this will get in the way and be really annoying if turned on, not to mention being a real power drain. It's located within display and brightness in your settings. I had to take care of this when I went from a 5S to and 8 Plus last year.

I’ve just upgraded to an IPhone 8. The shop transferred my sim card, and most things seem to have come across ok. However, I’m just after any advice as to what settings people think I should/it’s important to check on my new phone to make sure they’ve all transferred correctly?? I’m particularly interested in saving as much power as possible, and also in protecting my privacy. So any advice would be veery much appreciated. Secondly, how do I go about changing the name of my IPhone, both on my phone and my Mac?, so that I know it’s my new phone I’m dealing with? And how do I go about removing any old phones from my Mac? Thirdly, there are some apps on this phone that I definitely don’t want on/won’t use, and I thought that if I removed them I might save myself quite a bit of storage space. So how/what’s the best way of doing this? Finally, how do I check that text message forwarding is working correctly between my new phone and my IPad/Mac? Sorry for all the questions, but any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. Eleanor Sent from my iPad -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
