I was experimenting to see if there is an equivalent to the keyboard command
to do the double tap and hold.

I discovered a couple symbols I did not know we could create on a braille
device with one keystroke.  These are with contractions off:

 

Dots 8, 1,4,5,6 equals the ¢ (cents sign)  

dots 8,1,5,6 equals the £ (pound sign)

 

They don't show up in braille quite right, but VoiceOver speaks them just
fine and they translate to print just fine.

 

I did not find an equivalent to the double tap and hold though.
