Noe A lot of shows are broadcast live on YouTube and Tune-In Radio. Both can be downloaded as Apps from the App store or you could go directly to the shows web site. Facebook will also alert you to a particular person's show that is live streaming at a certain hour if you want to be alerted that way, or tend to be on Facebook a lot. It will provide the link to the live stream. I no longer bother with downcast or overcast, I just use the native app on my phone to see what is available and subscribe. It is perfectly manageable. And, as someone already pointed out, podcasts are prerecorded and air at different times. For instance you can get Fresh Air and Democracy Now the same day they are broadcast in your podcast app , but you won't get other shows, like the Rachel Maddow show until the next morning or perhaps later that same evening. You could however use Tune-In Radio and subscribe for free to MSNBC and live stream any show that is on at any hour of the day.
