I don’t know your email provider, but most nowadays support IMAP and if you set up your email account on your iPhone as well as your computer using the IMAP protocol you will have no more issues such as you describe and in addition you get proper syncing of emails, e.g. if you reply to an email on your iPhone the email will show as replied to on the computer and the corresponding sent message is in your Sent Items folder, if you delete an email on your iPhone it will also be deleted on the computer. Essentially with IMAP any changes you do are done on the server and any devices whether it’s one iPhone and one computer or one iPhone and 5 computers get all the changes. It is time consuming and very unpleasant to have to do them one at a time, and to have gotten rid of a substantial number only to see them all come flooding back is very frustrating.
