The iPod Touch is geared for people who either do not want a cell phone; or want a device to use for non-phone functions like music, books, games, etc. My first accessible Apple device was the iPod touch 3rd generation because I did not want an iPhone in those days. That was 10 years ago this November. It took several years before I decided I wanted an iPhone. Part of the reason back then was I didn't want to spend money on a cell phone plan. I've had lots of clients over the years that went with either an iPod Touch or iPad because they did not want or couldn't afford, the cell phone plan. Richard
