I have to share this story, in case any of you have the same trouble. Twice in
the last two weeks, I've had situation where my phone suddenly has no sound
output. It happened this morning and, until I figured out the problem, I had
totally forgotten a similar thing had caused the problem two weeks ago, right
as I had called for an Uber. I was thinking that my 6S phone was giving up the
ghost on me. At least with today, I has some plug in earbuds and could
successfully hear with those, but unplugging them resulted in silence. After
several resets of the phone and plugging it back in, I was about to resign
myself to having to rely on earbuds for the rest of my phone's existence, when
I noticed my Bluetooth earbuds on a nearby table. Yes, it turns out that the
night before I had forgotten to turn off my Bluetooth earbuds. When my corded
earbuds were plugged in, the sounds worked fine, but as soon as I unplugged the
cord, the sound was going to the earbuds across the room. Phew. When I
discovered this, I recalled that two weeks ago, as I was waiting for the Uber
and my phone stopped speaking, I had later discovered that the bone conduction
headset in my backpack was getting turned on by something pressing on the power
button. Pretty scary when you cannot see the screen and think the phone has
flat out died! Hoping a few of your can get a laugh with me about this and
keep it in the back of your head, should it ever happen to you.
