This happened to me once as well. I live in Austin, Texas, and one time
I left my iPhone in the car while we went kayaking, and when I got back,
I had the same message. Just like you, I never leave my iPhone in a car
on a hot sunny day anymore. I know the battery doesn't like heat, so I
figure it's best not to let it get that hot.

the shade and the phone was not in any direct sunlight. Well, I'll
never leave my phone in the car again! LOL
Just wanted to give y'all the heads-up to say just take your phone
with you so this does not happen to you.
