Did you buy Apple Care Plus? If so then 2 accidental damages are covered in the
2 year period after you bought the phone/insurance and you can in fact use them
for a broken screen, I believe it should only be $29 to get a screen repaired
because it's $39 here in Canada.
I just went through the same thing, dropped my iPhone 8 which I only bought
last December on the sidewalk, it fell right on the curb edge and the top of
the screen had a nice crack in it even despite having a glass screen protector
on it.
I didn't buy Apple Care Plus which means I only had the 1 year Apple Care which
comes with the phone and the screen repair cost me $195 Canadian, I assume that
would be maybe $149 in the US. Of course if you have a Plus sized phone and
probably also an XR or XS it would be more expensive.
I hope I can claim back all or some of it through my credit card since I have a
very expensive premium rewards card which has a lot of insurances. If they
won't accept this I am done paying the expensive annual fee.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: Reparing a Screen

Hello,

I’m sad to say that I had a bit of an accident the other day, and my screen was
cracked. i have Apple Care, but the fellow i spoke with said it doesn’t cover a
cracked screen due to accidental damage. I have to take it in to see if it can
be repaired, and how much it would cost. I wondered if any of you could tell me
whether you have had a similar experience, and how much it cost to get it
repaired? It’s the corner of the screen, so I rather wonder if it is even worth
doing. Thanks so much.

Holly
