I am not sure what caused this, Lois, but I did want to mention that I have never had a problem downloading multiple books both on my iPhone 4 last year and on my 4S now and not under iOS 4,5 and now 6. Yes, I sometimes had corrupted downloads, but as long as I was able to delete them and redownload it was fine and I have had up to 10 or 12 books on the phone when I go on holidays.
