Kevin,
I’ll have to experiment more with writing and replying, but I’m not sure if I’m
being placed at the top.
I’ve not noticed that being an issue.

For the mail days to sync, since you too have an Outlook account, open
Settings, passwords and Accounts,
Double tap on your outlook account.
After the list of services that are on or off, like mail, calendar, notes;
there should be an item, “Mail days to sync.”
If you want everything the same as on your computer, change that to no limit.

Then, hit done, or back if there is no done button.
The next thing to look at is just after Passwords and Accounts, is Mail.
Open that and look at the section for threading.
If you have threading on, you can decide which is first, oldest or newest.
I turn off complete threads as that shows messages in the thread that are in
the trash as well unless you have emptied the trash.

I do not know how to have it show the time for previous days messages or even
if that is possible.

Subject: I have several questions concerning working with email on an iPhone
using the native mail app.

Hi.

I wrote a note about this a few days ago, but I didn’t get any replies, so I’m
sending it again with maybe an additional question or two. I just got a Focus
40 Blue 5th Generation, and I’m using it with my iPhone X and the latest iOs.
Overall, I really enjoy the experience, and it makes it much easier to work
with the iPhone. However, I have some questions regarding the native mail app,
and if someone knows of a better one that will meet my needs.

The most important one concerns writing a message. Whether I’m writing a new
message or replying to one, when I’m finished with it, I’m placed at the very
top of the list. I get hundreds of messages per day, and it’s tedious to have
to move through the list to get back where I was. After I compose a message,
and I just read an email, the same thing happens. The only way I can get
things back to normal is to close the mail app and then reopen it. How do I
get this working the way I want?

In the email list, all messages are sorted in descending order. Is there a way
that the most recent message is on the bottom of the list?

I notice that when messages get older than a day, they don’t give the time the
message was received. Everything that I got yesterday has that indicated. Is
there a way to change this to show date and time?

I have a draft at the very bottom of the in-box. I have no idea how to get rid
of it. Anybody know how this is done?

I’m using an Exchange server, and I notice that the oldest message that I have
in the app is around a month old, and if the messages get older than that, I
can’t access them in my email anymore. My PC, which also uses Exchange, has
all my messages on it. I’m not very familiar with how Exchange works, so maybe
my quite older messages are downloaded locally onto the PC, but if not I’d like
to know if there’s a way to get older messages with Exchange.

Finally, if others out there know of a better app to work with email on the
iPhone, I’m all for learning about it. I’m getting used to how the native app
works, and I do have some workarounds to some of the issues I’m encountering,
but as I believe, if you don’t ask about something, you’ll never know of a
better solution.

Thanks in advance for the help.
