1. Sign in to Find My iPhone on this device with your Apple ID (the one you use with iCloud). 2. In the Devices list, swipe left on the device, then tap Remove. If your Apple Watch or AirPods come online <https://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=link&apdid=fmi40dfcba42&viewlocale=en_US&bookId=Find%20My%20iPhonePP452> again, they reappear in Find My iPhone. If the device reappears, *unpair <https://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=link&apdid=fmi1bdabf65e&viewlocale=en_US&bookId=Find%20My%20iPhonePP452> it in Bluetooth Settings on all of your devices.* I suspect that pairing the airpods with some other account would be helpful ... so if you are doing the transfer to someone else, while your phone is off (or you've bluetooth unpaired it with your phone) having them press the "re-pair" button the case and take over the airpods that might obviate the need for unpairing with all devices.
