If it is Off, then “Off” will show as selected, if you swipe right you have options for WiFi and WiFi and Cellular Data. If you tap on WiFi and by doing so select it, this means Background App Refresh only will happen if you are on WiFi. If you tap WiFi and Cellular Data, then background app refresh will happen on WiFi but also on cellular data. Select either WiFi or WiFi and Cellular Data and then perform a scrub gesture to go back or tap the “Background app refresh, back” button at the top left of the screen. Now you are back in the main background app refresh screen and it will now say “Background App Refresh, On”. You can now swipe right and go through all the apps listed and see if they are set to on or off and, if off you can turn them on or if on you can turn them off. But it’s certainly worth keeping an eye on if you are into this sort of stuff. I hope this upcoming ramble makes some sort of sense. I just got some tile pro tiles for my husband and a friend. When I press mine, the phone rings no matter what and I don’t have to have the tile app open. However, when I set one up for my husband’s phone it seems he must have the app open for the phone to ring, then go into the app switcher and close the tile app for it to stop. I can’t figure out what I may be missing to get his to work the way mine does. A sighted friend set mine up. I’d appreciate any advice. Also, I’ve somehow turned off background app refresh on his phone and can’t get it to toggle back on. Help there would be appreciated also. Boy, constant new challenges help us grow, I think. SMILE!
