Alternative words show up above the keyboard as always, so far I have not figured out if there is a way to explore these suggestions with a gesture, but you can definitely put your finger there and then check them. I tried actually exactly your example and when Voiceover announced "fix" and I checked "fox was the first other recommendation. I am not saying this is perfect yet, but I am amazed by the accuracy of the predictions which I think is much better than Flicktype and after all, Flicktype may give quite a lot of other options, but if you end up flicking down 4 or 5 or 6 times to see if the word you actually wanted is there that is not so efficient, either. Richard provided a link to a Podcast on Applevis about the slide keyboard, I haven't listened to it yet, but maybe Thomas has more insights into how you can make it work even better as it already does. I just like the fact that it's just there part of your regular keyboard, I don't have to switch to a third party keyboard, Flicktype in our example, and maybe dismiss Flicktype because for some reason I want to use the regular keyboard etc. The fact is I don't like to type on my iPhone unless I absolutely have to and I use dictation wherever possible and if I really wanted to type a longer email or planned to have a longer back and forth chat via text whether it's in the messages app, WhatsApp, Skype or Facebook Messenger, then I rather use my Bluetooth keyboard for the typing part.

It's important that you slide your finger approx.. to the position of the letter and never to lift your finger until you are done or you hear Voiceover speak the word you want, then lift to insert the word, find the starting letter of the next word and repeat by waiting a moment, then sliding. There is no need to insert a manual space, it does it for you. It works somewhat similar to Flicktype except that instead of tapping the screen in the pattern of the word you start with the definite first letter and then slide. It works remarkably well and I think if somebody really practiced this and by "really" I mean hours and hours of practice, that person could learn to type super fast with this. I think the predictions are better than in Flicktype, I did words like "Netatmo" and it actually got it right the first time. This will be a feature you either love or hate, there will be many who won't get it and many who don't want to spend the time practicing, but I think this is like playing an instrument, you may know how to tap out a simple tune on a piano, but it takes hundreds and thousands of hours of dedicated practicing to be really good at it.
