Do you mind sharing what some of the features are you like better in Downcast? I have mostly been using the native app and was thinking of switching over to the Overcast app because of the sound quality and compression features, but before I make the switch I am interested to know your thoughts on those other features.

Really a different strokes for different folks kind of deal. I use Overcast for some podcasts, but the majority of the stuff I listen to is through Downcast. Downcast has more settings for customization and such, whereas Overcast is a bit more simplified. That and yes, Overcast does have better overall sound quality. Hi Shirley, Overcast is really good at speeding up content and keeping the audio quality intact. A smart speed feature also saves time by shortening pauses in the audio. There's also a Voice Boost feature that helps equalize podcasts, which can be helpful if, for example, one person is louder than the other. You can store effects with a particular podcast so that if you like to listen to one at normal speed and another at 1.75, you can do that. Those are the features I particularly like.
