Hey Anthony,

If you find the tabs on the bottom of the screen there should be one labeled 
notifications. Activate that one and navigate through the content and that 
should clear it out. Alternatively you can find the first notification and 
perform the three finger drag down to refresh the feed and it will also clear 
the notifications.
