Yeah, I was going to post this after I sent my last message, but figured someone would bring it up... When they announced it, I do recall Apple talking about how e-sim was a big thing in China.

Keep in mind that people who are not in the US (Chermeen is in Canada as I am) don't have access to as many Voip services especially those who provide numbers one can use as a business number. In Canada Google Voice is not available, Skype does not provide any Canadian Skype-In numbers and while you can get phone numbers you can use with apps such as Groundwire or I forget now the other one, I think maybe Acrobits, those may not be numbers local to your calling area because only numbers from larger cities are offered or can be ported. I live in a smaller town and I for example cannot get a Voip number which people can call for free. For many this is not such a big deal any more since many cell plans include free long distance and even landlines often include long distance packages, but I would still never consider it good service for my customers to ask them to potentially call a long distance number if they want to call me. Also, if you work for a larger company who may provide a cell phone and who will let you use it for personal use being able to add a SIM with a personal number would be very good and vice versa the company may simply provide a SIM and plan if you have a phone which can support this. I mean... If you've already got a Google Voice, Skype or one of the myriad other VOIP services, then this feature's more or less been available for a while now and not dependent on the newer phones. -----Original Message----- From: viphone@googlegroups.com <viphone@googlegroups.com> On Behalf Of Sieghard Weitzel Sent: Wednesday, October 30, 2019 9:27 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Dual sym card capability? I believe the dual SIM support started last year with the iPhone XS and XS Max, not sure if the XR has it also. However, there are not two SIM trays, the one has to be a so-called e-SIM and I am not sure which carriers in Canada support e-SIM although the Apple Watch uses e-SIM and it is supported by all 3 major carriers, Telus, Bell and Rogers, but not yet carriers like Koodo (not sure about Fido and Virgin). . -----Original Message----- From: viphone@googlegroups.com <viphone@googlegroups.com> On Behalf Of Shermeen Khan Sent: Wednesday, October 30, 2019 8:15 PM To: viphone <viphone@googlegroups.com> Subject: Dual sym card capability? Hi all, Has anyone tried and had any success with using two sym cards (or micro-sims) in one phone? I seem to recall this being a feature in the iPhone 11 onward, but didn't know if anyone had actually tried it. It's a feature I have high hopes for, as I'd prefer to use one device for both work and personal use, while maintaining different phone numbers and such.
