Hello Shai, I know exactly what you mean and I can tell you that those buttons are still there. I, too, am using an 8 Plus with the latest version of iOS.
Admittedly, the buttons are a little more difficult to locate but, be that as it may, they are there. It's funny that you posted this message because I just used the return to Siri and the return to Twitter buttons less than 5 minutes ago.
