If I may, when I first considered getting the iPhone xs I wasn't sure about the 
lack of a home button either. However, after having made the switch, I could 
never go back. The gestures in place are quite intuitive. Face id is much 
faster than touch id. All around, it's a much better experience. Granted there 
are times face id doesn't register, but that's like once out of 50. The iPhone 
8 is also slower than newer models. I wouldn't buy the same thing you already 
have.
