… A more exotic issue as compared to problems more immediately pressing to most
people, but in case of interest, I wanted to see what the differences would be,
since I gathered there had been changes in how to handle photos and videos: I
discovered that, for example, if you do raw footage in the camera that’s five
minutes, that if you start trimming, it works as before that you see the
increments of 0.1 seconds, 1.2 seconds, etc. but when you want to trim the end,
it doesn’t give you the minor increments, which can be important, because you
might want to end the video at 3.5 seconds instead of at the four minute mark.
What happens is that you are flicking down and not hearing the increments until
the rounded down time even though The Apple rep during a screen share session
was seeing the increments, whereas I was just hearing the minute mark when
constantly flicking, thinking that nothing was happening, until it got to the
next descending minute. The rep happen to have an iPod with iOS 12, so he saw
right away what was going on after not quite getting it when we were doing the
screen share, Since he was going from the strictly cited perspective The issue
is now reported as a bug. This all is of interest to me because I trim and
combine clips for putting into YouTube. I combine in iMovie after getting out
the bits I don’t want.
