Hi, The first thing you want the friend to do is to go to the iPhone settings the Apple ID section then go to iCloud followed by find my iPhone and make sure that is off. Once that has been disabled, go to iPhone settings, general, very bottom there is reset. What you want to choose is erase all content and settings. This will wipe the iPhone to factory settings. Once it has been reset, you can triple click the home button to enable voiceover and set up the iphone.
