Hi Arnold, He needs to turn on the battery widget. To do this, flick right with three fingers from the first home screen or the Notification Center. to open the Today screen. There's an Edit button near the bottom of this screen; double-tap it. Then find the Add batteries button, and double-tap it to add it to the screen. If you like, double-tap and hold it and move it to the place in the list where you want it. Double-tap the Done button in the upper right corner of the screen when you're finished editing.
