Hi all and thanks for your responses.

I finally got to the bottom of this issue in this article from Mac rumours see below.

https://www.macrumors.com/2019/10/01/homepod-live-radio-requests-no-bbc-in-uk/

I  can get other stations but it seems somewhat hit and miss, I think I will be returning my Homepod as a waste of space!

And here again the link for that support article since the one Jim provided got mangled:

Listen to broadcast radio on iPhone - Apple Support <https://support.apple.com/en-ca/guide/iphone/ipha562cea63/ios>

I just tried this on my iPhone 8 asking SIRI the following examples:

Play BBC radio – SIRI said now playing BBC radio 1

Play CBC radio – SIRI said now playing CBC 1

Play Country 105 (I said it as 1 O 5) – SIRI played it, it’s a country station from Calgary

Play CHFI – SIRI said now playing 98.1 CHFI radio

Sieghard

No, you don't need the Tune In app ...

Yes, I do this all the time.  You do sometimes need to ask a couple of different ways to get what you want.  I tried BBC 1 and got it just fine ..

Hey Siri, play BBC 1

Hi,

I tried this but it didn't work on either my Homepod or Iphone.

Just wondered if I need the tune in radio app installed on my phone.

Have you actually got Siri to play radio stations on your phone or Homepod?
