Hello Robin, I have the Nest thermostats in my home and love them. The app is pretty accessible and they provide tech support. I had the Echo Bee thermostats for about five months and at that time (2017) the mobile app was not accessible. I tried to work with them over several phone calls with long wait times 25-45 minutes, and they had no knowledge of accessibility for people who are blind. Though it was well passed my money back return period, after a long phone discussion on the topic of returning the Echo Bee due to lack of accessibility, they did refund my money upon the return of the two thermostats.
Before I tried the Nest thrmostats, I called their tech support and was pleasantly surprised that the tech person whipped out his iPhone and turned on VoiceOver and walked me through the app. That was so cool and such a contrast to my experience with Echo Bee. So I bought the two Nest thermostats for our two AC units and have been very happy. Oh, I have not needed to call Nest tech support after that first demo. I had an HVAC professional do the installation of both the Echo Bee and the Nest. So, I did lose the cost of the first install for the Echo Bees. I have heard since that the Echo Bee thermostat app is accessible now. Don’t know though. Hi, Sorry for the vague subject line there. But I was just curious what if any smart thermostats people are making use of either in conjunction with Amazon Echo's and smart home apps that might be accessible with voiceOver. All thoughts appreciated as I begin considering purchasing such a device. Take good care. Robin -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
