Not sure if that would be the right option then to scan a passport for a Visa application. I know for some applications I have done they even want just a black and white image, but that would be something Fazil would have to know based on the instructions to come with the application. I would probably use something like Office Lense or I think the google app includes an option also to scan images, there are a ton of apps in the app store designed to scan receipts and produce a PDF image. You could even just use the regular camera and then use an online converter to convert the JPG image into a PDF.
