Yes, I remember having to use my Apple Pass Word to get the Cloud, then my phone one also. It just did not take us long though. The neat thing is since it brought everything over from my SE, it started talking right off.

Either way I’d stop your mothers and put the 6 on charge and start the process again Hope that helps. It only took a couple minutes to do the setup like you had your mom do. but as we were using the iPhone it still was downloading things in the background. I don’t know how long this took but I don’t think it was five hours but then my wife does not have as many pictures as your mom had. Mr. Ed From: viphone@googlegroups.com <mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com> [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Sieghard Weitzel Sent: Wednesday, January 22, 2020 6:33 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com <mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com> Subject: Setting up iPhone 11 from iPhone 6S Plus with Quick Setup So, here is the scenario: My mother has an iPhone 6S Plus and she recently bought an iPhone 11. Today I spoke with her on the phone to help her set it up. I recently bought an iPad Air for my business and used my iPhone 8 and the quick setup option, after I scanned the barcode on the iPad with my phone it took a very short time for the setup to complete, I had to enter the passcode I used on my iPhone and after that the iPad configured itself, it automatically connected to my WiFi and so on. When it was done it asked if I wanted to restore a backup or set up as a new device and I chose to set up the iPad as a new device. I did not notice that any apps got transferred via the quick setup, when I just looked all my photos from my iPhone are also on the iPad, but I am not sure if this happened via the quick setup or whether they simply downloaded because I have iCloud Photo Library and Photostream turned on. Anyways, here my question: if others have used this quick connect or quick setup feature where you bring your new phone close to your old one and then scan the code, how long did it take? On my Mom’s new iPhone 11 it said after she scanned the code that it was setting up and this could take several minutes, but it’s been saying this now for the last 5 or so hours. She says there still is a little wheel that is spinning as if it’s doing stuff, but it just goes on and on. I even called Apple Accessibility, but the guy I spoke with couldn’t really give me an answer. I Know you have to have Bluetooth on for this to work, but what I don’t know is what actually gets transferred and if, for example, all photos which potentially could be several Gigabytes of data, get transferred via Bluetooth to Bluetooth then this could of course take a long time. But why would Apple then say “this can take several minutes”, they should “this can take 8 hours”. Regards, Sieghard -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
