Yes, I've dealt with the Amazon Music app steep decline in volume by removing 
its access to the microphone. Of course, this removes access to Alexa with the 
app but it corrects the volume issue and since I don't use Alexa with the 
Amazon Music app, it works well for me.

Have that a lot. Usually, like you, I can start music and all sound comes 
right. Sometimes it does after a little time even if I don't start music. I 
think the best way to deal with this is to have a piece of music open and start 
playing it by opening and using a two finger double tap. This assumes the app 
is in the app switcher and not really closed. Once music plays, everything 
works fine.
