Shirley, Tom's voice is more human sounding, his voice is our favorite voice
on our phones. His Voice was used on one of the phone automated systems, but
I can't remember which one that was. It may have been dish.

I have Jaws on my computer and personally, I don't have a problem with it at
all. Can you change the pitch in typing mode in settings because I didn't
find that anywhere. I decided to go with Tom. That voice sounds more human
than some of the rest. At least if I get tired of it, I can change it to
something different and glad to have that option.

I agree with your rant; and I'll add my own.
VoiceOver is free.
You get amazing accessibility, and it does not cost a cent more.
Bugs exist in all software, get over it.
If you use a Windows computer, you have to spend a heck of a lot more for
good accessibility; and there are bugs there too.
And, while I'm on the subject, the free screen readers for Windows do not
hold a candle to VoiceOver on the iPhones or iPads.

also had the same problem. What we have to do is change her voice if you
have the American Female that seems to be the problem. It was with the
last update that some of us are having a problem with that. I changed it
to the male American Apple had suggested to the other person to change it
to a British voice. So it’s up to you but whatever when you change it and
it should work. Apparently with the next update this should be resolved.
